As many as 70 employees were affected by layoffs (PHK) due to the closure of the Coca Cola factory in Werdi Bhuwana Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, Bali.

Head of the Badung Regency Industry and Manpower Agency (Disperinaker), I Putu Eka Merthawan, said the closure of the Coca Cola factory would be closed on July 1, 2025.

"Yes, that's right, there are 70 employees who have been laid off," said Eka Merthawan when confirmed, Thursday, June 12.

The closure of PT. Coca Cola Bottling Indonesia, the production division in Bali, was caused by a decrease in purchasing power, economic pressure and geopolitical pressure.

This condition has caused a decline in sales since COVID-19 and has not been able to recover until now.

"The cause is simple. Of course there is a decrease in the turnover, the second is still the impact of Covid. Third, maybe there is one policy that they closed, that's the company's authority and we don't intervene. We can't intervene, it's company privacy," he added.

The number of workers in the production division is 70 people.

"The number of workers who were decided to work due to the closure of the production division was 52 people, while three people could receive it to be transferred to companies in Jakarta and Surabaya," he explained.

The rights of workers affected by layoffs will be paid in accordance with the rules of the Law.

"The company PT. Coca Cola Bottling Indonesia will also continue to pay BPJS Employment for workers for 10 months since the closing of the production division of PT. Coca Cola Bottling Indonesia," he continued.
