DPR Highlights Jumbo Budget Of IDR 217 Trillion MBG: Cromebook Corruption Don't Repeat

JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX DPR RI, Nurhadi highlighted the fantastic budget of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) which reached IDR 217.86 trillion in the composition of the 2026 ministry and institutional expenditure budget (K/L). He reminded BGN handling the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program to use the budget on target.

Nurhadi did not want the budget received by BGN for President Prabowo Subianto's flagship program to be channeled to unclear programs. He also mentioned the case of alleged corruption in the procurement of a chromebook laptop worth Rp 9.9 billion for digitizing education at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in 2019-2022 which is currently being handled by the Attorney General's Office.

Where in 2020, the Ministry of Education and Culture compiled a plan to provide information and communication technology (ICT) equipment assistance for educational units, from elementary to upper middle levels. Even though the plan was not a requirement for students at that time.

"The BGN budget must be right on target, so that nothing else happens, such as the corruption case in the procurement of laptops which touched Rp 10 trillion. If this happens again and again, public trust in the government will decrease. In the end, economic growth will stagnate," said Nurhadi, Thursday, June 12.

Nurhadi again emphasized that the government, especially BGN, must make the best use of the budget in the midst of a volatile global economy. He warned BGN to absorb the budget transparently and accountably.

"If IDR 217 billion is realized, it means that BGN must implement a stricter and better system," said the member of the Commission in the DPR who partnered with BGN.

To note, the Government has started compiling the budget needs of 98 ministries and institutions (K/L) that will spend next year. This was revealed in the 2026 Macroeconomic Policy Policy document and Fiscal Policy Principles (KEM-PPKF).

In the document, there is a change of order in the list of 10 K/L with the largest budget. The top position with the most jumbo budget occupied by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is IDR 217.86 trillion, shifting the position of the Ministry of Defense with the largest budget in 2025.

The BGN budget is to support the implementation of President Prabowo's flagship program, namely Free Nutrition Food (MBG). This program is designed to provide wider economic benefits next year.

Meanwhile, in second place K/L with the largest budget is the Ministry of Defense worth IDR 167.4 trillion. This figure only slightly increased from the budget in 2025 (before efficiency) which was valued at IDR 166.2 trillion.

While the third position is the National Police with an indicative ceiling of IDR 109.67 trillion or lower than the 2025 budget of IDR 126.62 trillion. Followed by the Ministry of Health with a ceiling of IDR 104.35 trillion, it is also lower than the 2025 ceiling which is valued at IDR 105.7 trillion. These figures can still change.

Seeing the very large budget, Nurhadi considered it necessary to carry out stricter supervision of the budget plan by BGN.

"Of course the DPR must form a kind of MBG Supervision Team," said Nurhadi.

Nurhadi also advised that this large budget be used in a mandate, and that no parties want to make a profit.

"Don't let the BGN jumbo budget become a field for creating irresponsible elements," said the NasDem Faction Legislator from the East Java VI electoral district.

"Because this very large budget plan is undeniable to cause a conflict of interest in it. So its use really has to be accountable and credible," continued Nurhadi.

Nurhadi also asked BGN to take action against rogue SPPI partners and officers (Indonesian Development Movement Work) before the 2026 budget was realized. SPPI works in the MBG program by being placed as the Head of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) throughout Indonesia under the National Nutrition Agency.

"Head of BGN must bring order to naughty subordinates, often make it difficult, and not open to people who want to participate in this MBG Program," concluded Nurhadi.
