TNI Recruits 24 Thousand Tamtama, DPR: The Focus Of Combat Training Is Not Being A Farmer In A Time Of Peace

JAKARTA - Member of Commission I DPR RI, TB Hasanuddin responded to the TNI Army (AD) plan to recruit 24 thousand main troops to form a development territorial battalion. Hasanuddin considered it better for TNI soldiers to focus on combat training.

In the statement of the Indonesian Army, the troops that will be recruited are not for combat purposes, but will focus on activities such as food security and health services.

TB Hasanuddin reminded about the duties, principal, and functions of the TNI. He also emphasized the importance of understanding the role of the TNI in the defense system of the people of the universe and national food security.

"In accordance with the applicable law, TNI soldiers should focus more on combat readiness by conducting intensive exercises," said TB Hasanuddin, Wednesday, June 11.

Previously, the Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispen TNI AD), Brigadier General Wahyu Yudhayana, said that the plan to recruit 24,000 main candidates was motivated by the preparation of the latest organizational structure, namely the formation of the Development Territorial Battalion.

This Battalion will consist of four companies, namely agricultural companies, livestock companies, medical companies, and zeni companies. It is planned that the battalion will be spread throughout Indonesia to support stability and development in 514 regencies/cities.
