Ministry Of Education And Culture: SPMB PIN Collection Can Be In 10 Schools

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) reminded that the PERSional Identification Number (PIN) collection service in the New Student Admission System (SPMB) can be carried out in five to ten schools closest to where prospective students live.

Director General of PAUD Education Dikdasmen Kemendikdasmen, Gogot Suharwoto said the long queue to obtain the SPMB registration PIN as happened in the East Java region, because the information regarding the PIN retrieval mechanism had not been evenly conveyed.

"PIN can be taken in five educational units, it doesn't have to be the intended school. Then, it can be in 10 nearby schools from where they live. So, it's clear," said Gogot as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 11.

He explained that the queue for taking SPMB PINs was like in the East Java region because the parents of prospective students simultaneously took it since morning, even though the PIN pick-up counter served until 17.00 WIB.

"The funny thing is, the morning is waiting in line from 7 o'clock, even though the counter can arrive at 5 pm. If you want to come at 12 pm, that's okay, it's just PIN verification. The point is, to make sure that the person registered is someone," he said.

Therefore, Gogot promised to intensify socialization regarding the rules for implementing SPMB this year in order to prevent similar misunderstandings from recurring.

"We need to intensify socialization. So we ask for the support of our friends so that parents don't misunderstand the rules regarding SPMB that have been set in the regions," he said.

Previously, in Surabaya on Tuesday (10/6), the Head of the East Java Education Office (Dindik) Aries Agung Paewai had instructed all state SMA/SMK operators in East Java not to limit the PERSional Identification Number (PIN) collection service in the 2025 New Student Admission System (SPMB).

He conveyed the instruction in response to public complaints regarding long queues during verification and validation of files for PIN collection.

"I ask all schools to serve the community well, facilitate every process, and not limit verification and validation of files," said Aries.
