The Perpetrator Of The Murder With Badik Was Secured In Jeneponto

The escape of the alleged perpetrator of the murder in Makassar has ended. Jajran, a member of the Manggala Police and the Jatanras Satreskrim team of the Makassar Police, managed to ambush a man with the initials RD (29) at his escape place, Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi.

The fugitive was arrested on suspicion of stabbing his colleague AE (28) with a badik to death.

"The perpetrator has been arrested, including evidence in the form of badik (secured) after the arrest. Also sweeping members of the Polsek and Polres, at his house there can be Badik Sajam and arrows, bows (ketapel)," said Makassar Police Chief Kombes Pol Arya Perdana, quoting ANTARA on Sunday, .

The perpetrator was arrested by the police at one of his escape sites in Tamalatea District, Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi on Saturday (7/6/2025) who at that time tried to escape again with the help of his colleague.

Meanwhile, the evidence that had been confiscated by the officers was a Badik type of sharp weapon that was allegedly used to stab the victim and the clothes worn by the perpetrator and the victim after the fateful incident.

For the actions of the perpetrator who deliberately killed a person, he was charged with Article 351 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code concerning persecution that resulted in death. The maximum penalty for criminal law is 15 years in prison.

The police chief explained that the incident of stabbing the victim occurred on Friday (6/6/2025) night Eid al-Adha 1446 hijiriah. The perpetrator and a number of his colleagues were having a wine party (Ballo) at his home, Jalan Inspeksi Kanal, Manggala District, Makassar City.

While drinking this typical South Sulawesi alcohol, the victim accidentally nudged the glass of the RD perpetrator until his palm wine broke. The incident then became the subject of jokes from his colleagues, but the perpetrator did not accept it, then held a grudge and was carried away by emotions.

"After the incident, there was a disagreement because there was indeed a victim hitting a drink, arguing, after that it was waited until it was quiet. Earlier there were many (people), waiting for the atmosphere to be quiet, then the perpetrator stabbed the victim twice, in the back and chest," he said.

After being stabbed, the victim took out enough blood so that residents who heard the incident tried to take him to the hospital for medical treatment, but the victim's life could not be saved and was declared dead.

"Meanwhile, the perpetrator himself (after stabbing) had asked his friend for help, basically fled to Jeneponto area. Then the Manggala Police Chief together with the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, a Jatanras team pursued the perpetrator," he explained the chronology of the incident.

From the information obtained, the perpetrator's house is often used as a place to drink until it becomes a habit. In addition, there is often a commotion that disturbs local residents. The police chief appealed to the public to avoid alcohol consumption because the impact is dangerous, not only health but also mental.

"City residents, people still like to drink ballo (stupid), still like to get drunk, now this is careful because if you are influenced by alcohol, you don't realize what you are doing. Finally, it ends ( committing a crime), being arrested for committing persecution, causing the victim to die," he said.
