TANJUNG SELOR The central government encourages all regions in Indonesia to immediately carry out rice planting with irrigation and pumping programs to deal with the 2025 dry season.

This directive was conveyed by the Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) of the Republic of Indonesia, Amran Sulaiman together with the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) of the Republic of Indonesia, Tito Karnavian while chairing the Coordination Meeting (Rakor) on the Acceleration of Food Self-Sufficiency Facing the 2025 Dry Season to be held in a hybrid manner from the Main Session Room (RSU), Head Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Jakarta on Tuesday, June 3.

The direction of the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman, was directly responded to by the Governor of North Kalimantan (Kaltara), Zainal A. Paliwang by instructing regional apparatus organizations to immediately collect data related to irrigation locations that are ready for use, and need repairs and will be built. new.

"If necessary, we have to pick up the ball so that we can immediately move quickly as a form of our commitment to support the central government's program and later the results can be felt by the community," said Governor Zainal, Thursday, June 5.

Governor Zainal revealed that the central government directly supports the construction of irrigation in areas that are in accordance with the availability of the budget.

"This is a breath of fresh air, especially in Kaltara Province as one of the priority areas for the national food self-sufficiency program," said Zainal.

The day before, Governor Zainal also attended the Food Self-Sufficiency Coordination Meeting and the Establishment of the Red and White Village Cooperatives/Districts of Kaltara Province which aims to make the Food Self-Sufficiency 2025-2026 a success, taking place at the Kaltara Governor's office.

The meeting discussed the government's strategy in dealing with the dry season to make the food self-sufficiency program a success, in order to maintain the availability of food supplies and suppress inflation. (ADV)
