KPK Cecar Driver Who Allegedly Knows The Flow Of Money From Foreign Workers' Extortion At The Ministry Of Manpower

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined Yongki Prabowo, who is a driver at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) on Wednesday, June 4. He is suspected of knowing where the money for extortion from foreign workers (TKA) flows.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the flow of money was thought to have come from collectors. Yongki's investigation was carried out at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"YP, who is the driver, is investigated for his role and knowledge of the flow of money given by the collectors," Budi told reporters in a written statement quoted on Thursday, June 5.

Investigators also examined two other people to find out where the money from extortion was flowing. Those who were worked on by investigators were M. August Dirata Hernoto as Sub-Professional Staff of the PPTKA Directorate Directorate General of Binapenta Kemnaker and Putri Citra Wahyoe who were former Hotline officers of RPTKA and verifiers of ratification of RPTKA at the Directorate of Foreign Labor Use Control (PPTKA) in 2024-2025.

"The Supreme Court was examined regarding its main task of verifying the ratification of the RPTKA and also investigating its role in knowledge of the flow of money from RPTKA applicants)," explained Budi.

"PCW was investigated regarding his knowledge and role in the flow of funds from foreign workers who proposed the management of RPTKA ratification and his knowledge of the use of the money," he continued.

In addition, investigators examined another person, namely Gatot Widiartono as the Coordinator of Analysis and Control of the Use of Foreign Workers (PPTKA) from 2021-2025. He was questioned about his duties and authorities in dealing with foreign workers' permits.

As for this case, eight people have been named as suspects. However, the KPK has not yet made an official announcement.

Those who were entangled were Suhartono and Haryanto who had served as Director General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Binapenta and PKK) of the Ministry of Manpower.

Then, the anti-corruption commission is also said to have appointed a taxpayer as Director of the Directorate of Foreign Labor Licensing Control (PPTKA) of the Ministry of Manpower; GW who is the Head of the Sub-Directorate and the Commitment and Coordinating Officer; and PCW, JS, AE as staff.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption related to the placement of foreign workers or the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA). Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu said there was an allegation that there was an extortion of prospective foreign workers (TKA) who would work in Indonesia.

This extortion, continued Asep, was carried out by the Directorate General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Ditjen Binapenta and PKK).

"(The Ministry of Manpower at the Directorate General of Binapenta collects or forces someone to give something," Asep said when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, May 20.

Asep said the suspects were suspected of violating Article 12e or Article 12b of the Anti-Corruption Law. The practice is alleged to have occurred for the period 2020-2023.

Searches have been carried out at a number of locations in Jabodetabek to look for evidence on May 20-22. A total of 11 cars and 2 motorbikes were confiscated and have been transferred to the KPK Confiscated Property Storage House (Rupbasan), Cawang, South Jakarta on Monday, May 26.
