Asking To Meet Investigators, Paulus Tannos Writes To KPK

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto revealed that his fugitive in the corruption case in the procurement of electronic identity cards (e-KTP), Paulus Tannos, had written to his institution. The entrepreneur is said to have asked to meet investigators at the end of May 2025.

"PT who asked via letter (on, ed) at the end of May to meet with investigators," Setyo told reporters, Thursday, June 5.

Setyo said his men did not just make a decision. "Investigators are considering the urgency," said the former Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

Similarly, KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo also confirmed the request from Paulus Tannos to meet with investigators. This fugitive wants to be examined with information.

As previously reported, the Ministry of Law (Kemenhum) revealed that the fugitive from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the corruption case of procuring an Electronic KTP (e-KTP), Paulus Tannos did not want to be sent back to Indonesia from Singapore. He fought the extradition process by submitting a request for a suspension of detention to local authorities.

"The current position of PT is not willing to be submitted voluntarily. Currently, PT is submitting a request for a suspension of detention to the Singapore court," said the Director General of General Legal Administration (AHU) of the Ministry of Law Widodo to reporters when contacted, Monday, June 2.

Widodo said Paulus Tannos was still detained after being arrested by local authorities. The Attorney General's Office (AGC) of Singapore as the representative of the Indonesian government also continues to fight the request for a suspension of detention.

In addition, Paulus Tannos will also undergo a preliminary hearing on 23'25 June. "The legal process in Singapore is still ongoing," he said.

Meanwhile, Paulus Tannos, who is the President Director of PT Sandipala Arthapura, was finally arrested by Singaporean authorities after being on the wanted list since 2021. He was named a suspect in the corruption case in the procurement of electronic identity cards (e-KTP) by the KPK in 2019.
