West Java Student Rules Enter At 06.30 July Applicable With Adjustments

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi revealed the rules for entering school so that at 06.30 WIB for elementary to upper-middle students in West Java will take effect in the new school year starting in July 2025, with adjustments to their regional culture.

Dedi Mulyadi explained that the new rules regarding school entry to 06.30 WIB were contained in a Circular (SE) issued by the Governor of West Java on May 28, 2025 with Number: 58 / PK.03 / Disdik, which is referred to as a follow-up to Permendikbud Number: 23 of 2017 concerning school days.

"The management is like this, at 06.30 it started the new school year. I used to be the regent from six o'clock and many mountainous areas. Now the standard is 06.30 from that standard, later there will be technical rules by each UPT Head based on regional distribution, and how the condition of the region is," said Dedi as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 4.

Adjustments to regional culture, said Dedi, are school distance adjustments, such as in the mountains, perhaps elementary and junior high school are close or close enough, while high school is further away.

"There will be a calculation later," he said.

From the circular, it was stated that the provision for entry early was aimed at supporting the formation of generations with values of Panca Waluya, namely Cageur (healthy), Bageur (good), Bener (true), Pinter (intelligent), and Singer (employed).

"It is necessary to regulate effective study hours that optimize the ability to absorb learning in the morning according to the potential age of students," reads the circular.

The policy of starting early school applies to all levels of education, ranging from early childhood education (PAUD), elementary school (SD), junior high school (SMP), to high school (SMA).

Not only regulating the use of time in schools, the circular also regulates the use of time outside of school. For example, when you go home from school until 17.30 WIB, children are asked to help parents, social activities, community, religion, or the development of interest and talent.

Then, from six to nine pm, children are advised to use their time for religious activities, study at home, and other useful activities. Especially on Saturdays and weeks, the governor appealed to be used as an education in the family environment or extracurricular to the knowledge of parents or guardians.
