Man In Tangerang Sends 'I Love You' Chat To Someone Else's Wife, Her Husband Replies With A Sickle

TANGERANG A man with the initials M (31) was arrested by the police on suspicion of assaulting a man with the initials AB (41), who is suspected of being an affair with his wife. The incident occurred on Songsit Street, Jurumudi Village, Benda District, Tangerang City, on Wednesday, May 29, 2025.

The Head of the Benda Police, Tangerang City Metro Police, AKP Rohmatulloh said the perpetrator was arrested on Monday, June 2, at his hiding place in the Teluknaga area, Tangerang Regency.

"The perpetrator was arrested by officers at his hiding location in the Teluknaga area," said Rohmatulloh when confirmed, Monday (2/6).

He explained that the incident began when perpetrator M read the contents of a short message on his wife's cellphone which showed a special relationship with the victim AB. In the message, the victim wrote intimate sentences such as 'I love you' and 'love'.

"The perpetrator felt emotional after learning of an intimate relationship between his wife and the victim," said Rohmatulloh.

Feeling angry, the perpetrator then replied to the victim's message using his wife's cellphone and arranged a meeting with the victim. The purpose of the meeting was to vent his anger.

"The perpetrator provoked the victim to want to meet by replying to these intimate messages," he said.

After the meeting was agreed, the perpetrator came to the scene with a sickle. Arriving at the scene, the perpetrator immediately grabbed the victim and hit the victim's hand and neck.

After carrying out the action, the perpetrator fled and left the victim seriously injured. Local residents who saw the incident immediately took the victim to the hospital for medical help.

The police who received the report immediately conducted an investigation and succeeded in revealing the location of the perpetrator's hiding.

"The perpetrator fled to his brother's house in Teluknaga to avoid being chased by the police," explained Rohmatulloh.

Currently, the perpetrator has been named a suspect and charged with Article 351 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code concerning persecution that resulted in serious injuries, with the threat of a maximum prison sentence of five years.

"The perpetrator has been detained at the Pinang Police Headquarters," concluded Rohmatulloh.
