Kudus Residents Get Tricked, Leave Rp50 Million To The Box For Billions Of Gaib Money

The Kudus Police, Central Java, arrested the perpetrators of fraud under the guise of a shaman who was able to multiply money so that the victim suffered losses of up to tens of millions.

"The victim, who is a Kudus resident, trusted a fake shaman with the initials S from Surabaya because previously he had helped heal the victim's wife who was sick because she was suspected of being exposed to witchcraft," said Kudus Police Chief AKBP Heru Dwi Purnomo as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 2.

For his wife's recovery, the perpetrator also asked for a dowry of Rp. 3 million. The victim agreed and after his wife recovered, the perpetrator was invited to stay at the house of his victim, who is a resident of Kaliwungu, Kudus Regency.

When the perpetrator stayed at the victim's house, then the perpetrator offered to be able to multiply the money.

Feeling in debt because he had helped heal his wife, the victim with the initials AS from Kaliwungu believed that the perpetrator could double the money by taking magical money.

"The victim finally handed over Rp50 million in cash, then put it in a large box in which there is a fake precious stone and cloth. Then the victim was asked to wait for one year so that the money could multiply to Rp7 billion," he said.

Not even a year old, namely at the end of April 2025 the victim suspected that he had been deceived. Then report the perpetrator to the police.

In addition to being deceived about the case of multiplying money, the victim was also deceived by investing in stocks in private companies in Kudus with the value of money deposited to the perpetrators amounting to Rp. 30 million. Then the perpetrator asked for additional money to invest in shares of Rp. 60 million, so that the total loss suffered by the victim reached Rp. 140 million.

Based on the victim's report, the perpetrator was finally arrested at the victim's house and is now threatened with a sentence of four years in prison for violating Article 378 of the Criminal Code.

The perpetrator with the initials S, who works as a massager, admitted that he had just practiced the shaman who doubled money once, because he was pressed to pay off debts and fulfill his daily needs.
