Women Persecuted And Shouted At Terrorists On Transjakarta Buses, Buru Police Perpetrators

JAKARTA - A woman is suspected of being abused and subjected to racism from a man on a bus and a Transjakarta bus stop. Both are passengers on the same bus.

The incident occurred on Thursday, May 29, at around 07.45 and the bus the victim and the perpetrator were traveling in stopped at the Tanjung duren bus stop.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Grogol Petamburan AKP Aprino Tamara said the victim had reported the case on Friday, May 30. Currently, the police are still hunting for the perpetrators.

"(We are still investigating the identity of the perpetrators). We are still investigating who the person is," Aprino told reporters, Sunday, June 1.

Based on the victim's statement, the perpetrator, who was a middle-aged man, suddenly kicked the victim's leg and hit the victim's hand for no reason on the bus.

"After being stopped, Transjakarta security was separated. He also doesn't know what the problem is, suddenly it's like that. This is just a statement from the victim," said Aprino.

The Transjakarta bus stop officer who separated the victim and the perpetrator also did not know the origin of this incident. Thus, the police still need information from other witnesses in the investigation of the case.

"We are still investigating the person's identity. Then we are also still waiting, want to interrogate from security who had separated, and want to study CCTV. CCTV on the bus has not been obtained. He said it was there. We are coordinating with Transjakarta," explained Aprino.

In the video uploaded to the victim's TikTok account, conditions were recorded when the perpetrator and the victim came out of the Tanjung Duren Bus Stop. The face of the perpetrator who shouted at the victim was called "terrorist".

According to the victim's confession, he was beaten and kicked by the perpetrator when the two of them boarded the 8M Transjakarta bus. In fact, the victim said the perpetrator also hit the Transjakarta officer who was with the victim.

"Today I was beaten and kicked by these men at the front stop of Taman Anggrek because of my looks like an Arab. Followed and shouted at by terrorists," wrote the sabyyna account in his upload on Tiktok.

Head of the Public Relations and CSR Department of PT Transjakarta, Ayu Wardhani, confirmed the incident. At the time of the incident, Transjakarta officers accompanied the victim who left the bus stop because the perpetrator was still making racist statements to the victim.

"To ensure the safety and comfort of customers, Pramusapa escorts female customers to the opposite side of the JPO because both of them are in the same direction to the Central Park mall. After feeling safe, Pramusapa returned to duty at the bus stop," explained Ayu.
