AGO Arrests Fugitive Involved In Stabbing Prosecutors In Deli Serdang

The Attorney General's Intelligence and Innovation Task Force (SIRI) team together with a joint team arrested a fugitive named Eddy Suranta Gurusinga alias Godol who was suspected of being involved in the stabbing of a prosecutor in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Harli Siregar, said Eddy was arrested at the Kenan Natural Bathing, Sibolangit, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

"When secured, the convict Edy Suranta Gurusinga alias Godol was uncooperative and fought back," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 28.

Kapuspenkum said Eddy was a fugitive who was on the wanted list (DPO) of the Deli Serdang District Attorney (Kejari) regarding the illegal firearms case.

Eddy's arrest, he said, was based on the cassation decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia with number 342 K/PID/2025 dated September 25, 2024 which stated that Eddy was legally proven and convincingly guilty of committing a crime of possession of firearms and was sentenced to 1 year in prison.

Therefore, after being arrested by investigators, Eddy will undergo a period of detention.

"Furthermore, the convict was taken to the Class I Penitentiary Tanjung Gusta Medan to be executed," said Kapuspenkum.

The case of possession of firearms that ensnared Eddy is suspected to be related to the stabbing case against prosecutors Jhon Wesli Sinaga and ASN Kejari Deli Serdang Asensio Silvanof Hutabarat.

Kapuspenkum Harli said Prosecutor Jhon Wesli handled Eddy's case. In addition, Jhon also knew the stabbing perpetrator with the initials APL alias Kepot.

"That actually the perpetrators of this stabbing and the prosecutor know each other," he said.

He said Jhon communicated with APL to find Eddy's whereabouts to be executed in connection with the illegal possession of firearms.

"The prosecutor in question communicated with the perpetrator more about how to find information so that the person declared the DPO (Eddy) could consciously fulfill the legal summons to carry out the court's decision," said Kapuspenkum.

However, when they met, Prosecutors Jhon Wesli and ASN of the Deli Serdang Kejari Asensio Silvanof Hutabarat were stabbed by the perpetrators.

Apart from APL, the North Sumatra Police also arrested one other perpetrator of the stabbing, namely SD alias fire.

Kapuspenkum said that currently the prosecutor's office is investigating the relationship between Eddy and the two perpetrators who have been arrested.

"We are investigating whether there are communication relations and so on between the perpetrators who are DPO (Eddy) and the perpetrators of this stabbing," he said.
