JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Adies Kadir, said that his party was still looking at and reviewing the proposed increase in political party funds (parpol) up to 10 times from IDR 10,000 to IDR 10,000 per valid vote.

This is so that the budget for political party funds can be adjusted to the needs and procedures in accordance with the rules.

"We will see, yes, what is it used for, right. The principle is that if we give it, we prepare it for the community. It's just that we also have to read it right, study the rules properly," said Adies, Wednesday, May 28.

Adies also admitted that he was worried that if the political party funds were too large it would have a bad impact in the future.

"Sometimes if the rules are too big, the rules will not be clear, we are also worried. Later we will accept it big and then the use is not in accordance with the procedure, there is something else," said the Deputy Speaker of the DPR.

Therefore, the General Chairperson of the MKGR said the Golkar Party would first look at matters relating to this proposed increase. Moreover, President Prabowo's government is making efficiency which will continue until 2026.

"We need to study what the process will be like, how much it will be used for anything, what kind of way to use it. It must also be studied really," said Adies.

"What is certain is that we prioritize the welfare of the community first," he continued.

The Gerindra Party proposed an increase in political party funds by up to 10 times. Secretary General of Gerindra Ahmad Muzani assessed that the increase in party funds could be at Rp. 10 thousand per vote.

Meanwhile, PKS General Treasurer Mahfudz Abdurrahman also suggested that the party be allowed to form a business entity as an additional source of political party funds. According to him, this business entity can make the party not only depend on a small number of parties.
