PDIP Calls The Increase In Political Party Funds Not Urgent: The Government Is Efficiency, Not Elok

JAKARTA - PDIP DPP chairman Said Abdullah said the proposed increase in political party funds (political parties) up to 10 times was not too urgent. Moreover, President Prabowo Subianto's government is making efficiency.

"It's not too urgent for now, because the state's financial condition is not yet possible. After all, the government is doing efficiency, suddenly there will be additional for political party funds. It's not good for the community," said Said, Wednesday, May 28.

Therefore, Said suggested that the proposal be postponed first. "If you look at the government's needs, current government programs, where the government is making efficiency in 2025, it will even be continued in 2026, it is better in my opinion that the desire is temporarily suspended," he said.

The chairman of the Banggar DPR RI considered that it was necessary to study and calculate rigidly to determine the amount of the increase in political party funds. According to Said, there is no need for a benchmark to increase from Rp. 1 thousand to Rp. 10 thousand per valid vote.

"The ideal is that we look for examples of other countries, which want to be financed by the state budget, what are the real things? ATK, office maintenance, then birthdays, political parties, political party congress, regeneration, right, it can be calculated together, right? It can't be attached, we need 10 thousand votes per vote," said Said.

If the increase occurs, added Said, of course the most profitable will be PDIP as the political party that has the largest votes. As the winner of the election, Said said, PDIP does not want to burden the state budget and prioritize the interests of the people.

"Well, if that happens, the benefits will be, in this case, let's say PDI Perjuangan. But we PDI Perjuangan see it not like that. The government is doing efficiency, not good," said Said.

As is known, the Gerindra Party proposed an increase in political party funds by up to 10 times. Secretary General of Gerindra Ahmad Muzani assessed that the increase in party funds could be at IDR 10 thousand per vote.

Meanwhile, PKS General Treasurer Mahfudz Abdurrahman also suggested that the party be allowed to form a business entity as an additional source of political party funds. According to him, this business entity can make the party not only depend on a small number of parties.
