PPP Regarding Romahurmuziy Bujuk Anies Becomes A Candidate For Chairman Of PPP: Internally Still Mumpuni

JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the PPP DPP Rusli Effendi criticized the action of the Chairperson of the PPP DPP Advisory Council M. Romahurmuziy or Rommy who offered the general chairmanship position to people from outside the PPP for the upcoming PPP X Congress.

According to Rusli, many candidates from the internal PPP are qualified and deserve to be chairman.

"I make sure that as cadres who move from below, candidates from internal PPP are still qualified and appropriate, of course they are not inferior to external figures," said Rusli Effendi when contacted in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 27, as quoted by Antara.

Rusli said this when responding to Rommy's action who persuaded a number of figures to run as the General Chair of PPP. Some of these figures include Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf to former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan.

Regarding Amran's figure, according to Rommy, met the criteria to lead PPP, both in terms of character and logistics.

Rommy assessed that Amran had a good work ethic because it was believed to have succeeded in violating the Ministry of Agriculture during the era of the 7th president of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto. In addition, Amran's background, who is also an entrepreneur, is considered to be able to support PPP progress, especially in terms of logistics.

Despite his attempts to persuade Amran, Rommy said Amran is currently still waiting and seeing.

"Mr. Amran is still waiting and see. Murni is caused by her busy schedule, which has a heavy burden as the backbone of the government's food sovereignty program," Rommy told reporters in Jakarta, Monday, May 26.

However, Rommy's action to persuade outsiders to become chairman of the party was called unethical by PPP Deputy Rusli Effendi.

"It is very unethical, such as exploiting the party, and as if this is merchandise," said Rusli.

However, Rusli said PPP remains open when there are outsiders who want to join as cadres, but there are mechanisms that must be followed.

He said that his party welcomed if there were figures who wanted to join together and fight to build the nation.

"Ahlan wa sahlan. However, of course everything has a mechanism, if in PPP there is an AD/ART. I don't think only PPP has a mechanism, but other parties or in any organization have one," said the PPP Deputy.
