Hafiz's House Where The Suspected Terrorist Teaches Is Illegal By The Ministry Of Religion

GOWA The Office of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) of Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi confirmed that the hafiz house suspected of being the place of suspected terrorist activity with the initials MAS alias Mu (18) was not officially registered, either in the local government or within the Ministry of Religion.

The head of the Gowa Ministry of Religion, Jamarus, stated that the free hafiz (RHB) house in Pallangga District, where Mu is suspected of teaching, was not recorded in the institution's official database.

"The hafiz house is not in our database and it is confirmed that it does not yet have an official permit. We only found out about the existence of the hafiz house after the arrest occurred," said Jamarus, quoted from ANTARA.

He added, because the house had never applied for a permit, the Ministry of Religion did not have the authority to close or revoke its operational permit.

"We make sure the hafiz house in question is illegal because it is not registered with the Ministry of Religion," he said.

Furthermore, Jamarus explained that in the last two years, the Ministry of Religion has implemented a moratorium on the issuance of permits for the establishment of hafiz houses.

"Currently, the Ministry of Religion no longer issues permits for hafiz houses. Permits are only given to institutions such as LPQ, TPA, and TPQ. So, if there is no permit from the Ministry of Religion, it will automatically be declared illegal," he said.

Previously, Densus 88 Anti-terror together with the South Sulawesi Regional Police arrested a student with the initials MAS alias Mu on Jalan SD Daeng Emba, Samata, Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency, for allegedly being involved in a terrorist network.

"He was secured in front of Citra Junior High School while buying gallons of water. The motorbike was not secured, only the person. It was brought around half past six in the afternoon," said Head of RW 04 Samata Village, Nasir Daeng Nai, on Saturday night.
