JAKARTA - The DPR asked the police to investigate the case of intimidation experienced by three students of the Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Indonesia (FH UII), the plaintiff of the TNI Law, to the Constitutional Court.

"We will ask law enforcement officials who then intimidate, on what basis is being intimidated, and why did this happen," said DPR Speaker Puan Maharani after meeting Prime Minister Li Qiang at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday, May 25.

Puan explained that this step was taken by her as chairman of the DPR because she only found out about the case of intimidation of UII students from journalists.

"I also just found out from the media. However, if that's the case, then we'll see if (intended) to intimidate," he explained as quoted by Antara.

Previously, three FH UII students who were applicants for the formal review of Law Number 3 of 2025 concerning the TNI (TNI Law) were intimidated by unknown people (OTK). They are Arung, Handika, and Irsyad.

The three FH UII students have registered for the judicial review of the TNI Law at the Constitutional Court (MK) with registration number 74/PUU/PAN.MK/ARPK/05/2025.

After suing the TNI Law to the Constitutional Court, the residence of the three FH UII students was suddenly visited by OTK who tried to dig up their personal information.

There were even military officials who asked for a copy of the family card of the plaintiff's student of the TNI Law to the village office where they lived. The FH UII student who experienced intimidation was worried about his safety.
