Presiden Prabowo Bahas Soal MBG Dengan PM China, Li Qiang

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed that President Prabowo Subianto discussed several of his flagship programs in a bilateral meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Sunday.

The flagship programs discussed include free nutritious food (MBG), energy self-sufficiency, and the construction of a giant embankment (giant sea wall) on the north coast of Java.

"We certainly hope (China's contribution, ed) in the form of higher investment. The President spoke about superior programs, whether it's a free nutritious meal, then also energy self-sufficiency. In the future, strategic projects, such as sea wall activities are also being prepared," said Airlangga answering reporters' questions when met at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Sunday.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto together with several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet accompanied President Prabowo in a bilateral meeting with PM Li today.

Apart from Airlangga, the Indonesian Government delegation consisted of Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani.

Furthermore, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Head of the State Intelligence Agency M. Herindra, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Stella Christie, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmantha Christiawan Nasir, and Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun.

The bilateral meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and PM Li Qiang took place during a series of official Chinese PM visits at the Merdeka Palace, Sunday afternoon.

In the same series of visits, President Prabowo and PM Li Qiang also witnessed the signing of four memorandums of understanding (MoU) and eight cooperation documents between Indonesia and China.

A total of four MoUs signed in front of President Prabowo and PM Li included the MoU regarding the establishment of a framework to encourage bilateral transactions in the local currency between Bank Indonesia and the People's Bank of China.

Then, the MoU regarding cooperation in economic development policies between the National Economic Council and China's National Development and Reform Commission, as well as the MoU regarding strengthening economic cooperation in the industrial sector and supply chain between the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Trade of China.

Finally, the MoU regarding the cooperation betweenTwo Countries, Two Parksantara, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, with the Ministry of Trade of China and the Provincial Government of Fujian.

Meanwhile, eight cooperation documents signed by Indonesia and China at the Merdeka Palace today include cooperation in the tourism sector, cooperation in agricultural exports, traditional medicine, prevention and control of TB, investment cooperation between Danantara and China Investment Corporation, business strategy cooperation between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Indonesia.

Two other collaborations are the collaboration between Perum LKBN ANTARA, which is the Indonesian News Agency, and the Xinhua News Agency, China News Agency. Then, the cooperation between LKBN ANTARA and China Media Group.
