Illegal Parking Attendant At Season City Mall Allegedly Affiliated By Mass Organizations

The West Jakarta Metro Police is investigating the alleged connection between a number of illegal parking attendants (jukir) and community organizations (ormas) following the rampant acts of thuggery affiliated with mass organizations in the Tambora area.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Chief of West Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Tri Suhartanto, after controlling illegal jukir around Season City mall, Tambora, on Thursday (22/5) night.

"Currently we are still in the deepening stage. The illegal jukir have been secured, and we will first collect data," said Suhartanto.

A total of 11 illegal jukir were arrested in the operation. They are known not to wear the official attributes of parking attendants from the Transportation Service (Dishub), such as special vests. Therefore, the Police will coordinate with the Transportation Agency and the West Jakarta City Government regarding further handling.

"We will conduct an analysis and evaluation (anev), then submit the results to the West Jakarta Transportation Agency and City Government," he added.

This control is part of the Operation Eradication of Jaya 2025, which was carried out as a follow-up to public reports regarding the rampant practice of illegal parking in the Season City area, Jembatan Lima.

"We received many complaints from residents regarding illegal levies and parking rates that did not comply with the provisions, even accompanied by coercion," Suhartanto explained.

He also appealed to the public not to hesitate to report disturbing illegal parking practices.

"We invite residents of West Jakarta to report to the Resort Police, the nearest Polsek, or go directly to service 110. We are ready to serve the community for a full 24 hours," he said.
