SIGI - The District Attorney's Office (Kejari) of Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, began collecting initial data regarding reports of alleged misuse of the 2024 Pilkada budget by the local General Election Commission (KPU).

The Head of the Sigi Kejari, M. Aria Rosyid, said that data collection was carried out to follow up on public reports, especially regarding the honorarium of the Voting Committee (PPS) which had not been paid.

"We have started the process of collecting data to follow up on public reports related to the PPS honorarium in the 2024 Pilkada which has not been paid until now," Aria said when met in Maku Village, Antara, Tuesday, May 20.

The case is still at the initial stage of collecting evidence and has not yet entered the formal investigation stage.

"If the evidence is sufficient, we will enter the investigation stage, including summoning witnesses and other related parties for questioning," he said.

Aria also mentioned that his party is still waiting for the results of an internal audit from the Indonesian KPU which will be part of the search process.

"This process is still being handled in the field of Intelligence, and is closed. If the documents and evidence are complete, the case will be transferred to the Special Crimes Sector (Pidsus)," he explained.

Meanwhile, KPU Secretary Sigi Bardin Louvalley said his agency had been audited by the Indonesian KPU from April 25 to May 2, 2025. He admitted that the grant funds from the Sigi Regency Government amounted to Rp30 billion were not sufficient for the real needs of the Pilkada.

"From the results of the audit, it is true that the Sigi KPU lacks budget, so that the payment of PPS honorarium cannot be made," said Bardin.

He added that currently there is a plan to use grant funds from the implementation of the Central Sulawesi gubernatorial election through a budget sharing mechanism to cover the lack of PPS honorariums.

It is known, until mid-May 2025, the PPS honorarium in 173 villages in Sigi Regency had not been paid in total reaching Rp1.2 billion.
