After Being Questioned, Jokowi Was Asked 22 Questions About His Thesis and Activities as a Student

JAKARTA - The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has completed his examination related to the alleged fake diploma at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit. Investigators made 22 statements during the examination process.

"There were 22 questions that were asked earlier," Jokowi told reporters at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Tuesday, May 20.

Dozens of questions in the series of examinations, said Jokowi, were about diplomas from all levels of education. Then, regarding the activities of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia when he was a student.

"Yes, around diplomas from elementary school, junior high school, high school to university, also those related to my thesis with my student activities around that," he said.

Not only undergoing examination, on that occasion Jokowi also took back his diploma that had been handed over to investigators some time ago.

However, Jokowi is still reluctant to show his diploma to the public. The reason is, this will be done if requested by the court.

"We will open the diploma when requested by the court by the judge," said Jokowi.

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is known to be investigating the alleged fake diploma case belonging to Jokowi. The process was based on a report made by the Head of the Clerics and Activists Defense Team (TPUA), Eggi Sudjana.

In addition, the investigation is also based on Information Report Number: LI/39/IV/RES.1.24./2025/Dittipidum dated April 9, 2025 regarding Eggi Sudjana's complaint.
