SERANG - The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Banten Police has named three people as suspects in the alleged incitement, extortion, and unpleasant acts related to the project belonging to PT China Chengda Engineering.
The determination of the suspect was carried out after the case was held on Friday (16/5) night.
The Dirkrimum of the Banten Police, Kombes Dian Setyawan, explained that the three suspects who are currently detained are the Chairman of the Cilegon City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) MS, the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce for Industry IA and the Chairman of the Indonesian Fishermen Association (HNSI) Cilegon RJ.
"The three of them have proven to have an active role in coercion efforts for the company to provide projects to their organizations without the auction process," he said as quoted by ANTARA.
The three of them were charged with different articles according to their respective roles in the alleged forced demand for a project allotment of IDR 5 trillion.

Meanwhile, MS, apart from being involved in project coercion, is also suspected of mobilizing the crowd to take action at the PT Chengda project site. He was charged with Articles 160 and 368 of the Criminal Code.
This case emerged after a viral upload on social media on May 11, 2025, which featured a statement by the Chairman of the Cilegon Chamber of Commerce and Industry regarding the request for project rations without auction.
The police immediately followed up with a series of investigations and clarifications against 14 witnesses from the company, organization, and the police.
