Prabowo Receives Chinese Ambassador To Discuss Strengthening Investment To Food

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, discussing strengthening cooperation between the two countries, from the investment to food sectors.

"So, we discussed bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment, food, energy, downstream industry, connectivity between communities, culture, education, everything, and there is still much to look forward to in the next few weeks," Wang Lutong told reporters after a meeting at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Friday, May 16, reported by ANTARA.

Wang Lutong also said that the personal relationship between the two leaders was an important asset in the strategic partnership between the two nations. Even during last year's meeting, the two leaders of the country had resulted in many important agreements.

Both Prabowo and Chinese President Xi Jinping, he said, also continue to maintain close communication, by sending letters to each other and talking directly to each other.

"So, we can expect a lot from this relationship. I think the personal relationship between the two presidents has always been an important asset in this partnership, and we will continue to build on that foundation," he said.

Regarding the possibility of a meeting between Prabowo and Xi Jinping in the near future, Wang Lutong could not confirm this.

"What I can say right now is that there will be a very strong relationship between the two parties and coordination and even closer cooperation between the business world and the people of the two countries," concluded Wang Lutong.

This meeting is a positive signal of Indonesia and China's strong commitment to maintaining and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, especially in the midst of the momentum of the 75th anniversary of close diplomatic relations.
