JAKARTA - A Ukrainian man was present at a London court on Friday to face charges of arson following a counterterrorism investigation into a series of fires all linked to Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Reported by Reuters on Friday, May 16, Roman Lavrynovych (21) was present at the Westminster validation on charges of three arsons with the intention of endangering lives.
He spoke through an interpreter to confirm his name and address. The defendant was detained until his next trial at Old Bailey London court on June 6.
Earlier, British police were called in to deal with the fire on Monday morning on property in Kentish Town, north London, an electoral district represented by Starmer.
No one was injured, but the entrance to the house was damaged.
Lavrynovych was arrested the next day in connection with the fire and two subsequent incidents - a fire at the property entrance near Islington on Sunday and a vehicle fire in Kentish Town on Thursday.
Before moving to Number 10, Starmer lived at Kentish Town's address with his wife and two children.
