Online Prostitution Case In Bali, 2 Russian Citizens Sued For A Year In Prison

DENPASAR - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Badung District Attorney demanded two Russian citizens Anastasia Koveziuk (26) and Maksim Tokarev (32) one year in prison in cases of online prostitution on international networks.

In a closed trial at the Denpasar District Court, Bali, the Public Prosecutor believed that the two defendants were legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act of pornography that committed, ordered to commit and participate in committing acts of providing pornographic services.

"Demanding, imposing a sentence on the defendant Anastasia Koveziuk and the defendant Maksim Tokarev each with a prison sentence of one year, reduced while the defendants are in detention, with orders that the defendants remain detained," reads the prosecutor's demands quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 15.

The two defendants were charged with Article 4 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 30 of Law Number 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography Jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code in accordance with the Second indictment of the Public Prosecutor.

During the trial, the two defendants wore red vests with handcuffs entered one of the courtrooms at the Denpasar District Court.

In the indictment, the Prosecutor stated that the two defendants acted as operators of one of the online prostitution service sites in Bali.

In addition, both of them recruited and exploited a woman from Russia.

In the prosecutor's indictment, both of them peddle women to work as commercial sex workers (PSK) via Telegram. One of the witnesses who was made a prostitute is known to have done the work given by the two defendants in Bali since December 29, 2024.

The prostitution service was carried out in a similar way in Thailand.

The defendant Anastasia Koveziuk prepared a place to live for the witness on behalf of Pamela in an apartment and forbade witnesses to stay in another hotel.

Based on the prosecutor's indictment, witness Pamela served dating by means of sexual intercourse, which is the tariff for each date, starting at IDR 4 million to IDR 5.7 million per sex.

Customers can make payments in cash, transfer them to account numbers in the name of the defendant Anastasia Koveziuk, or with crypto.

Furthermore, the distribution of 50 percent of the service payments was given to witness Pamela, as much as 40 percent of the service payments were given to the defendant Anastasia as the leader, and as much as 10 percent of the service payments were given to Defendant II Maksim Tokarev as operator/manager.

Until finally, the Badung Police raided the place used by the defendants to run the prostitution business on Jalan Berawa, Badung Regency on January 10, 2025 at 03.22 WITA.

The two defendants were then named suspects and processed legally.
