DENPASAR - BUMN PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Regional 3 Benoa Branch, Bali, recorded as many as 50 thousand tourists from cruise ships inspecting the island of Bali during the period January to April 2025.

His party noted that during 2024 there were 59 cruise ships visiting Benoa Harbor with passengers who were foreign tourists more than 103 thousand people.

As for 2025, his party has received a request for 72 cruise ships scheduled for docking at Benoa Harbor.

Until January-April 2025, he continued, there were already 36 cruise ships docked at the port.

Anak Agung revealed that Bali Island has become a cruise ship tourist destination because of its natural and cultural attractions and easy access.

According to him, within a radius of 25-30 kilometers from the port and a duration of about seven hours, cruise ship tourists can visit a number of tourist destinations such as beaches, nature, temples, cultural arts to culinary.

The locations can also vary in a number of districts, such as Ubud, Tanah Lot, several tourist attractions in Badung Regency, Denpasar, Gianyar and can even visit Bedugul.

"That's what distinguishes Bali from other destinations. Access in Bali is easy to reach within seven hours and the maximum distance is 25-30 kilometers, many tourists can visit destinations," he said.

Currently, the length of the dock has reached 500 meters, allowing three large cruise ships to dock at the same time.

There is also the largest and longest cruise ship to ever stop in Indonesia, namely the Athlem of the Seas with a length of 348 meters and a weight of 167,800 tonnassage (GT).

The Bahamas-flagged ship carried 4,279 passengers and 1,550 crew docked in Benoa on February 28, 2025.

Before the arrangement, he said, the maximum size of the cruise ship that can be stopped was up to 260 meters.

To attract more world cruise ship operators to stop in Benoa, his party participated in tourism promotions, one of which was the Sea Trade Cruise Global business exposure which was held in Monaco and Miami, United States.

According to the Ministry of Tourism (formerly Kemenparekraf), shopping for cruise ships is relatively large, which is estimated at up to 2,000 US dollars per person per visit.

On average, the expenditure of cruise ship tourists is spent on tour packages, transportation, souvenir shopping to culinary or lunch.

Even so, the length of visits to the segmentation of cruise ship tourists is short, namely an average of two days and one night.
