Kadin Cilegon Asks For IDR 5 Trillion Project Allotment, Police Chief: No Threats

SERANG - Cilegon Police responded to the circulation of viral videos on social media showing a group of people claiming to be local entrepreneurs who allegedly demanded a project allotment of IDR 5 trillion without an auction for one of the companies in the region.

The company is the implementer of a national strategic project (PSN) in Cilegon City.

Cilegon Police Chief AKBP Kemas Indra Natanegara explained that the video was the result of a misunderstanding between local and foreign entrepreneurs.

"We have mediated, there is no threat or intimidation. Both parties agreed to keep the situation conducive," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 13.

However, the Cilegon Police still gave an ultimatum to parties trying to take advantage of the attributes of community organizations (ormas) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to put pressure on companies, especially in the context of strategic projects.

The Kemas emphasized its commitment to take firm action against all forms of thuggery on behalf of community organizations (ormas) or non-governmental organizations (NGOs), especially those that disrupt the business world and the investment climate in the Cilegon City area.

"We want their existence to bring benefits to the community and encourage the acceleration of regional development," said AKBP Kemas.
