A Toddler Victim Collapsed The Ground Detention Wall In Cianjur Dies

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that a toddler who was the victim of the collapse of a retaining wall on a house in Cipanas District, Cianjur Regency, died after receiving treatment at the Cimacan Hospital.

Head of BPBD Cianjur Regency, Asep Kusmanawijaya, said the victim died after one day undergoing treatment at the hospital in critical condition due to a broken house wall being hit by TPT material.

"The victim died Tuesday morning after receiving medical assistance at the Cimacan Hospital, the victim was evacuated by officers from the rubble of the collapsed house wall after being hit by collapsed TPT material," he said in Cianjur, Tuesday, May 13, which was confiscated by Antara.

The victim along with four other family members were immediately taken to the hospital for medical assistance, four other people consisting of their father, mother and brother suffered minor injuries due to being hit by collapsed house wall material.

The condition of the other four family members has improved, so they are allowed to go home, while the victim's body has been buried in a public cemetery in Kampung Balakang, Sindanglaya Village.

"Currently, joint officers consist of the TNI/Polri, Damkar, PMI Cianjur and volunteers starting to clean the houses of affected residents from TPT and mud material left over by floods because the river flow is hampered," he said.

Previously, it was reported that joint officers from Cipanas District, Cianjur Regency, evacuated a family consisting of five people from inside the house who were heavily damaged as a result of being hit by a collapsed ground retaining wall in Balakang Village, Sindanglaya Village, Monday, May 12.

The head of Sindanglaya Village, Nyanyang Kurnia Sanusi, said the three-meter-high retaining wall located opposite the village collapsed after heavy rains hampered the river flow flooding residents' houses.

"The river current was heavily hampered by collapsed wall material, so it recalled the village and part of the wall material hit the wall of one of the residents' houses and collapsed," he said.

As a result, he said, one house was heavily damaged and two other houses were flooded, so his party evacuated a family consisting of three adults and two children who were injured as a result of being hit by a collapsed house wall.
