JAKARTA - The UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) warned on Sunday, May 11, the ongoing blockade imposed by Israel against the Gaza Strip has caused "irreversible damage" to the lives of millions of Palestinians.
"It's been more than nine weeks since Gaza has been under siege, with Israeli zionists barring all humanitarian, medical, and commercial aid from entering," UNRWA said in a statement.
"The longer this blockade lasts, the greater permanent damage it causes to countless lives," UNRWA said.
UNRWA said it had thousands of aid trucks ready to enter Gaza, and their teams on the ground were ready to increase aid distribution.

On Monday, Gaza's Ministry of Health reported the deaths of 57 children from malnutrition and associated complications, following the much-needed scarcity of therapeutic milk, especially for children with special needs.
