JAKARTA Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak instructed all ranks of the Indonesian Army to provide security support to high prosecutors (kejati) and state prosecutors (kejati) throughout Indonesia. This order is specifically addressed to the Commanders of the Military Regional Command (Pangdam) as a form of institutional support for the existence of the structure of the Deputy Attorney General for Military Crimes (Jampidmil) within the prosecutor's office.
"This security cooperation is a synergistic step between the TNI AD and the prosecutor's office, and will be carried out formally in accordance with the existing structure," said Head of the Indonesian Army Information Service Brigadier General Wahyu Yudhayana when giving a statement in Jakarta, Sunday (11/5).
Wahyu added, although this security cooperation is not new, its implementation is currently more structured and formal. So far, inter-unitary relations have made it possible for a similar form of cooperation, but now it is regulated more systematically according to the leadership's orders.
