JAKARTA - The Tangerang City Government, through the Department of Housing, Settlement and Land (Disperkimtan), has set a cost of suction services in a narrow alley residential area of IDR 125,000 per service, using a special fleet called Bolang (Sedot Tinja Service Entrance Agency).
According to the Head of the Tangerang City Disperkimtan, Dicky Priambodo, this tariff applies to residents who live in densely populated settlements with limited road access, who previously had enjoyed similar services for free.
"This tariff is intended for low-income people who live in narrow alleys, so they can still enjoy proper sanitation," said Dicky in Tangerang, Sunday.
The Bolang service itself is an innovation designed to reach locations that cannot be accessed by conventional sedot equipment trucks. The Bolang fleet is a modified three-wheeled vehicle in order to be able to carry mini suction devices, but remains effective and hygienic.

To access this service, residents only need to use the Si Senja feature in the Tangerang LIVE application available on the Play Store and App Store. Other alternatives, ordering can be done through the official service number at 0856-9354-445.
"With Bolang, sanitation in densely populated areas can be more even, even to narrow halls," he added.
Currently, the Tangerang City Government has operated 13 latrine trucks and two Bolang units which are specifically used to target areas with limited access.
Deputy Mayor of Tangerang, Maryono, sees Bolang's presence as a strategic step in inclusive public services.
"Belang is the answer for residents in small alleys. They just need to contact the Bolang service and no need to worry anymore about limited access," he concluded.
