JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is again holding the Indonesia Gastroplomacy Series (IGS) 2025, this time with the aim of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province.
Carrying the theme 'Diplomatic Tour Goes to West Nusa Tenggara', the activity took place on 8'11 May 2025 and was attended by 38 Ambassadors and partners as well as foreign diplomats from 27 countries.
The delegation was led by Expert Staff for Social Culture and Empowerment of Indonesian Society Abroad Ambassador R. Heru Hartanto Subolo, accompanied by the Director General of Protocol and Consular Affairs, Ambassador Andy Rachmianto. The presence of diplomats was greeted directly by the Governor of NTB Dr. Then Muhamad Iqbal, in an official dinner marking the start of a series of activities.
In his remarks, Ambassador Heru Subolo emphasized the wealth of NTB potential from the agricultural, tourism, to local customs and culture sectors.
"For the next three days, we are offering opportunities and networks that have been prepared by the NTB Provincial Government. We will also introduce new investment partners in NTB," he said at the opening.
Meanwhile, the Governor of NTB emphasized the commitment of the provincial government to partner with the Central Government in accelerating regional development.
"NTB is a province with thousands of opportunities. I will directly convey the leading potentials that are ready to be developed with international partners," he said.
This activity is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Provincial Government of NTB, the InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), and Pelita Air airlines.
In this IGS 2025, the participants will explore NTB's cultural and culinary heritage, as well as explore tourism potential and investment opportunities in various sectors.
The diplomatic tour agenda includes visits to the Ampenan Museum and Kota Tua, the Bilebante green tourism village, and direct interactions with MSME players at NTB Mall.
Meanwhile, in Mandalika, participants will have a dialogue with ITDC on tourism investment potential, as well as attending the 2025 Asian Fanatec GT World Challenge international event.
