JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo's attorney, Yakup Hasibuan, confirmed that his party would visit the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police on Friday, May 9 morning. This presence is to fulfill the investigators' request in the alleged fake diploma case that dragged Jokowi's name.
"We plan to attend around 09.30 WIB at the Criminal Investigation Unit," Yakup said when confirmed via text message, Friday morning.
On this occasion, Yakup stated that he would bring important documents, namely Jokowi's original diploma. The submission of this document was carried out according to an official request from the police investigator.
"Our agenda today is to hand over Pak Jokowi's diploma as requested by the Criminal Investigation Department," he explained.
The case of Jokowi's alleged fake diploma continues to be in the public spotlight. Until now, the investigation by the Directorate of General Crimes (Dittipidum) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is still ongoing intensively. At least, 26 witnesses have been questioned.
The witnesses came from various backgrounds, including reporters, staff from Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti), alumni of SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta and other related parties.
In addition to witness examination, Bareskrim has also traced and verified various supporting documents in this investigation process.
Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro emphasized that investigators work carefully and professionally to maintain accuracy in handling this very sensitive case.
