Dozens Of Members Of The Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department Were Reported On Allegations Of Extortion

The Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department is accused of carrying out illegal levies (extortion) in a structured manner. Unmitigated, as many as 17 civil servants (PNS) of the Central Jakarta Sub-dept. who were reported for alleged extortion scandals since 2020.

WS Laoli, a member of the Thousand Islands Sudinhub who had served at the Central Jakarta Transportation Agency, confirmed the alleged extortion.

"That's right. It has been reported to the Saber Extortion Center of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia," he said when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Laoli said that currently the case has been handled by the Polda Metro Jaya. However, Laoli was reluctant to elaborate on the extortion scandal he meant in his report.

"Now it is handled by Saber Pungli Polda Metro Jaya," he said briefly.

Confirmed separately, the Head of the Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. Wildan Anwar denied any allegations of extortion reported by a member of the Transportation Sub-dept. named WS Laoli.

"It's not true. The reporter has a bad motive, (the reporter) is a staff member of the Thousand Island Transportation Agency," he told VOI.

Currently, the alleged extortion case is being handled by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Inspectorate.

"It is better to ask the Inspectorate," he said.
