Prabowo Claims The Success Of The Free Nutrition Eating Program Capai 99.99 Percent

JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto stated that the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program has shown a success rate of up to 99.99 percent, after serving around 3.4 million beneficiaries since it was launched in early January 2025. This, according to him, is proof that good intentions can have a real positive impact.

In the Plenary Cabinet Session at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, Monday, May 5, Prabowo revealed that the incident of students experiencing digestive disorders due to MBG food packages only occurred in about 200 children, or the equivalent of 0.005 percent of the total beneficiaries.

"Those who were poisoned or had an unpleasant stomach were 200 people, out of more than 3 million. That means 99.99 percent success. In any field, if the success is that much, it would be very good," said Prabowo.

However, Prabowo emphasized that the government should not be complacent. He appreciated the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, who targeted zero errors in the future implementation of the MBG.

"We must not be complacent, Mr. Dadan. We'll see in December. But I appreciate the zero-error target. We know it's not easy," he said.

The President also considered MBG as an important breakthrough that was initially questioned by many parties. He called this success a tangible manifestation that the government is working with good intentions and careful planning.

"Initially, many of them were sarcastic, saying it was impossible. But we prove that with good intentions, the right formula, and the right implementation, God willing, it will reach the target," said Prabowo.

In the future, the number of MBG beneficiaries is expected to continue to increase. According to Prabowo, by the end of May 2025 the number will reach 4 million people, and will continue to increase to 82.9 million recipients by the end of November.

"By the end of June it will be 6 million, the end of July 22 million, and it will continue to increase. Until the end of November 2025, we are targeting 82.9 million people," he explained.

Prabowo also revealed that the MBG program attracted the world's attention. A number of country leaders, even global figures such as Microsoft founder Bill Gates, are said to be meeting with him to discuss the program.

"On May 7, Bill Gates will come. He has asked to meet since last November. One of them wants to express his support and appreciation for our MBG program," he concluded.
