Not The First Time! Residents Say These Brothers Often Fight About Land Heritage In Pamulang

JAKARTA - A man named Narun (60) was found dead after being allegedly attacked by his own younger brother, Willy Firdaus (40), on Jalan Masjid Darussalam, Pamulang, South Tangerang, last Wednesday, April 30.

A local resident, Jeffry, said that the problem between the victim and the perpetrator was not new. The dispute between the two has occurred many times, and is allegedly triggered by a land inheritance dispute in the Pamulang area.

"This is not the first time. Three times the perpetrator tried to attack the victim. He even had time to bring a machete, but at that time it was successfully prevented by residents," Jeffry told VOI, Sunday, May 4.

Jeffry added that almost all local residents were aware of the tension between the brothers, but no one dared to reprimand the perpetrators because they were known to be temperamental and often carried sharp weapons.

"When he meets his brother, he always prepares a gun. But we are also afraid. People here know, but he is horrified," he added.

Ironically, when the murder occurred, no residents were at the scene to prevent it. Only a few women looked from a distance and shouted for help.

"I heard screaming for help, then I came out. When I came out, the victim was covered in blood, the perpetrator fled," said Jeffry.

Jeffry also regretted that there were no police reports from the family even though the victim had been attacked many times before.

"The victim never reported it. He said it was because he was threatened too, so he might be afraid," he said.

The police immediately gave chase after the murder took place. Willy was finally arrested in the Pamulang area, last Thursday, May 1.
