SERANG - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Serang Regency has handed over a case of alleged money politics that occurred ahead of the 2024 Pilkada Re-voting (PSU) to the police.

Serang Regency Bawaslu member, Abdul Holid, said there were two sub-districts whose cases met elements of election criminal violations, namely Cikande District and Tunjung Teja District.

"Allegations of money politics that occurred in Cikande and Tunjung Teja sub-districts have fulfilled the elements of election criminal violations. Furthermore, we have transferred this case to the police for legal processing," said Holid in Serang, Antara, Sunday, May 4.

Bawaslu noted that there were three suspected perpetrators in Cikande and two people in Tunjung Teja who are now reported.

Meanwhile, similar allegations in two other sub-districts, namely Ciruas and Cikeusal, do not fulfill the elements of violations as stipulated in Article 187A paragraph (1) and (2) of Law Number 10 of 2016 concerning Pilkada.

"Because it does not fulfill the elements as stipulated in the law, the handling is terminated and does not proceed to the investigation stage," said Holid.

This case emerged on April 18, 2025, ahead of the day of the PSU implementation. At that time, the Serang Regency Bawaslu received initial information regarding the alleged practice of money politics in six sub-districts.

Bawaslu immediately followed up by clarifying the 12 people suspected of being involved, each from Ciruas, Tunjung Teja, Cikeusal, Cikande, Gunungsari, and Kopo.

After a joint discussion with the Integrated Law Enforcement Center (Gakkumdu) involving the police and the prosecutor's office, only 10 of the 12 suspected perpetrators were registered.

"The registered ones came from Cikeusal two people, Ciruas three people, Cikande three people, and Tunjung Teja two people. Meanwhile, the suspects from Gunungsari and Kopo were not registered because formally and materially did not meet the requirements," Holid explained.
