JAKARTA - The General Chairperson of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI), Central Hendry Ch Bangun, expressed his appreciation to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, who supported the Jakarta U-17 League. This competition is one way to screen young Indonesian football talents.

Pramono Anung was present and kicked off the Jakarta U-17 League which involved 18 clubs at Pancoran Soccer Field (PSF) Field, South Jakarta, Sunday, May 4. They will compete for the 2025 DKI Jakarta Governor's Cup.

"The Central PWI appreciates the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung for supporting the U-17 Jakarta League involving PWI Jaya and SIWO Jaya. This is a new breakthrough in an effort to rebuild the achievements of DKI Jakarta football in the national event," said the Chairman of the Central PWI, Hendry Ch Bangun who together with the Acting Chairman of PWI Jaya, Ariandono Dijan Winardi and the Acting Chairperson of SIWO Jaya who is also the Chair of Panpel, Azhari Nasution, accompanying Pramono.

According to Hendry Ch Bangun, PWI Jaya and SIWO Jaya must indeed be involved in building sports achievements. Therefore, he praised the concept of the U-17 Jakarta League which prioritized the development of young football.

"The Jakarta U 17 league, which held 306 matches, is really an opportunity to hone the skills and increase the flight hours of young players. And, I am sure that through the Jakarta U-17 League, quality players will be born who are only able to raise the achievements of DKI Jakarta football but also penetrate the Indonesian national team," explained Hendry.

Ariandono added that the Jakarta U 17 League was born in an effort to revive football coaching in DKI Jakarta. In fact, the committee will also prepare a database and draw up player rankings to be donated to the DKI Jakarta PSSI Asprov and also the DKI Jakarta Dispora.

"The Jakarta U-17 league comes as a quencher of thirst for young players who miss flying hours. Here, each club will undergo 34 matches (home and away). Because, the concept is coaching, participants are exempted from registration fees," said Ariandono.
