PPATK Reveals Farmers Forced To Open Bank Accounts For Online Judicials

JAKARTA - The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) found that farmers were forced to open bank accounts by online gamblers (judol) to be used to receive deposits of these crime funds.

"We found a lot of ATM cards purchased from our brothers and sisters, our brothers and sisters in the countryside who were forced to open an account. After that, the account was used by collectors for gambling deposits," said Head of the Center for Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis (PPATK) Ivan Yustiavandana as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 2.

Another phenomenon found by PPATK, he said, was that the online gambling resulted in social problems that spread to criminal acts, ranging from domestic violence (KDRT) to murder.

In addition, there is also the right of children to get education which is confiscated by parents who play judionline.

"This should be money generated by both parents, which is used for their children's education," he said.

Ivan also reminded that no gambling players won. In fact, the gambling algorithm has been designed by the perpetrators not to win players who have spent a lot of money.

"Players sell two luxury cars and the money is used for online gambling. Then, win and get one motorbike. They forget that two luxury cars have gone missing. After that, they play again, lose another money for three cars," he said.

PPATK appreciates the National Police for continuing to eradicate online gambling which has harmed the community in all aspects.

Moreover, Bareskrim Polri followed up on the findings of PPATK related to the alleged account where the gambling online funds flowed by blocking 865 accounts with a value of money in them of around Rp194.7 billion.

"This is a continuation of previous achievements. Of course from our side, PPATK, is very confident that achievements will continue with even better achievements in the future," said Ivan.
