Teenager Bercelurit Arrested During A Brawl In Gambir, Central Jakarta

Six teenagers were arrested by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Precise Pioneer Patrol Team after being caught in a brawl on Setia Kawan Street, Tanggul area, Duri Pulo Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, on Friday, May 2, 2025.

The perpetrators were arrested while clashing with other groups in the middle of the road. In this action, they carried various types of sharp weapons, including sickles.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro, said that the arrests began with reports from residents who saw the brawl. Patrol officers who received the information went straight to the location and found a group of youths fighting.

"We immediately moved quickly and secured the perpetrators and evidence," said Susatyo when confirmed.

From the scene of the incident, officers confiscated two sickle blades and iron which were thrown away by the perpetrators when they were about to escape.

"We have brought all the perpetrators and evidence to the Central Jakarta Police Headquarters for further investigation," he added.

Based on the results of the initial examination, the six perpetrators were known to be students and young workers aged 16 to 24 years.

For their actions, they were charged with Article 2 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 concerning possession of sharp weapons without a permit. The maximum penalty is up to 10 years in prison.
