KPK Public Prosecutor Indicts Former PJ Walkot Pekanbaru Sunat 2024 APBD Rp8.9 Billion

RIAU - Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) charged the former Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru, Riau Province, Risnandar Mahiwa with cutting and receiving illegal money from the 2024 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) which amounted to Rp8.9 billion.

KPK prosecutor Meyer Folmar Simanjuntak read out the indictment in his inaugural trial at the Pekanbaru District Court on Tuesday.

Risnandar appeared to have arrived in the courtroom wearing batik and orange vests.

"The funds that should have been used for government operations were cut and distributed for the personal interests of the defendants," said the prosecutor.

This riot was charged with being carried out with other defendants, namely the former Regional Secretary of Pekanbaru City, Indra Pomi Nasution, Head of the General Section of the Setdako, Novin Karmila and Adjutant Risnandar, Nugroho Dwi Tripurwanto. They are suspected of receiving money from the deduction from the disbursement of the Supply Money (GU) and Additional Inventory Money (TU).

From the disbursement of GU and TU sourced from the Regional Budget and Regional Budget (APBD-P) of Pekanbaru City 2024 amounting to Rp37.79 billion, Risnandar Mahawa is suspected of receiving a total of Rp2.91 billion. Meanwhile, Indra Pomi is suspected of receiving Rp2.41 billion, Novin Karmila Rp2.03 billion, and Nugroho Dwi Tripuranto as much as Rp1.6 billion.

According to the indictment, any disbursement of GU or TU will be carried out, Novin Karmila informed Risnandar Mahawa. Furthermore, Risnandar asked Indra Pomi to speed up the issuance of Payment Orders (SPM) and Fund Disbursement Orders (SP2D).

"After the funds were disbursed, most of the money was immediately deducted and handed over in cash to the defendants," said the KPK prosecutor, confiscated by Antara.

Risnandar is known to have received the money several times in cash delivery at the mayor's official residence. In addition, he also received a flow of funds via transfer, including payments for personal purposes such as the cost of sewing his wife's clothes worth Rp158.49 million.

"Meanwhile, Indra Pomi received most of the money at the Setdako Office in cash from Novin Karmila. Likewise Nugroho Dwi Tripuranto, Risnandar's aide, who received payments in several stages, including one disbursement of Rp1 billion at the end of November 2024," said Meyer Folmar.
