Prabowo Receives Honorary Visit From Federation Of Korean Industries At The Jakarta Palace

JAKARTA The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, is scheduled to receive an honorary visit from the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, April 28, at 11.00 WIB.

Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, explained that this meeting was part of an effort to strengthen economic relations between Indonesia and South Korea.

"This meeting aims to strengthen economic relations between the two countries and open up wider investment opportunities in various strategic sectors," Yusuf said in a statement quoted by ANTARA.

In addition, Yusuf added that this meeting would also focus on increasing collaboration, especially in the investment sector, in the hope of opening up new opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.

Previously, in mid-February, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, had met with the CEO and Deputy Chairman of FKI, Kim Chang-beom, to discuss strengthening global supply chain cooperation.

During the meeting which took place at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Vice Chairman Kim conveyed the plan to visit the FKI business mission in April 2025 and asked the Indonesian government for support to make this activity a success.

"This business mission aims to increase bilateral business and economic cooperation, especially in the new investment sector, including the expansion of South Korean industrial investment in Indonesia," said Vice Chairman Kim in an official statement in Jakarta.

The business mission will be followed by a number of large South Korean companies that have invested as well as those that plan to develop their investment in Indonesia, including Lotte Group, Hyundai Motor Company, LG Group, SK Group, Posco Holdings, CJ, EcoPro, Doosan Energy, and LX International.

Responding to the plan, Airlangga Hartarto gave appreciation and support, as well as encouraging an increase in the realization of investment projects from Korean companies in Indonesia.

According to him, building close partnerships with countries that have experience and advanced technology is a strategic step to increase national industrial competitiveness, accelerate technology transfer, and open wider market access.

"Indonesia is very open to Korean companies to invest and develop their businesses in the country," said Airlangga.
