SOLOK Resort Police (Polres) Solok Kota, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), managed to reveal the identity of the human skeleton found by residents behind the Solok City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) office.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Solok City Police, IPTU Oon Kurnia Iblih, said that his party immediately processed the crime scene (TKP) and evacuated the human skeleton to the M Natsir Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Solok City.
"We processed the crime scene with members and evacuated the bodies to the M Natsir Hospital, Solok City," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 28.
Arriving at the hospital, the bones and clothes used by the victim were cleaned. The medical team then conducted an examination through a visum et repertum in the morgue of RSUD M Natsir. Based on the results of the examination, there were no signs of violence on the victim's skull which was still intact.
During the hospital examination process, a number of families came and admitted that they had lost a family member on behalf of Deswinto (49), who had not been home for a long time. They had previously reported the case to the police.
The police showed the victim's belongings to the family. Based on the introduction of Linmas clothes and belts worn by the victim, the family believes that the skeleton is Deswinto.
"Based on information from the family, Deswinto has been suffering from mental disorders since 2000, or it has been around 24 years," said Oon.
The family stated that they were sincere and agreed not to conduct an autopsy on the victim, and had made an official statement regarding the decision.
