Gorontalo Province Kumperindag Conducts Processed Food Search Containing Pig Elements

GORONTALO - Findings by the Halal Product Guarantee Administration Agency (BPJPH) regarding nine processed food products that contain pork elements but are not included in the packaging label, are now being followed up by the Gorontalo Province Cooperatives, MSMEs, Industry and Trade (Kumprindag) Office.

Head of the Kumperindag Office, Risjon Sunge, said Friday that his party continues to monitor the circulating goods to provide protection for consumers or the public in general.

"We carry out monitoring of goods in circulation from April 23 to 25, 2025," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, April 26.

Risjon said that Kumperindag had made direct visits to shopping centers selling processed foodstuffs and shops selling cake ingredients in Gorontalo City, Gorontalo Regency and Bone Bolango Regency.

In the implementation of monitoring the circulating goods, information and findings were obtained from nine food processed ingredients released by BPJPH and BPOM, there were four types of processed food, namely the ChompChomp Car Mallow, the ChompChomp Flower Mallow, the ChompChomp Marshmallow form of tubes and Hakiki Gelatin, an additional food ingredient that formed jel, which had existed in several outlets.

However, said Risjon, since April 21, 2025, after being released from BPJPH and BPOM RI, these items have been withdrawn from the storefront and secured in storage warehouses by each manager or management, which will then be returned or destroyed. "The certainty of the four types of processed food ingredients that are included in the list, already in and secured in the warehouse of goods, has been seen directly by Trade Supervisory officers and Trade PPNS from the Gorontalo Province Kumperindag Office who went to the field," he said. Furthermore, as a concrete step he said, at one of the outlets, food processing materials that did not comply with these provisions had been destroyed.
