Bogor City Government Pacu Tourism Sector, Answering Hotel Occupancy Decreased

The reduction in the activities of agencies, ministries, and institutions throughout Indonesia, including in Bogor City, has an impact on the decline in hotel occupancy in Bogor City.

As a city of services and trade, Bogor City feels the direct impact, especially in the hotel sector. In fact, two hotels in the Bogor City area have announced their operational closures and it is possible that other hotels will also be affected by this situation.

Responding to this, the Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A. Rachim, emphasized the need for strategic steps to reduce dependence on ministry and institutional activities.

One of the solutions currently being developed by the Bogor City Government (Pemkot) is to encourage the tourism sector as an alternative economic driver.

"The Bogor City Government's plan to encourage this is to organize a Bogor Hotel Great Sale tour package program which can later be packaged with tourist attraction tickets, such as the Bogor Botanical Gardens or Museums as well as other objects," said Dedie Rachim on the sidelines of the Apeksi Korwil III Meeting in Pekalongan, Central Java, Thursday 24 April.

Dedie Rachim emphasized the importance of presenting new tourist destinations in Bogor City.

In addition, he also wants to revive the Open Palace program so that people's interest in visiting Bogor City can be stretched again.

Meanwhile, in the medium term, he conveyed his commitment to attract investors through ease of licensing and use of regional assets that have not been optimally exploited.

With these strategic steps, it is hoped that the Bogor City tourism sector can rise and become the main driver of local economic growth.
