Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, responded to public complaints regarding parking rates in the Tanah Abang shopping area, Central Jakarta, which were set quite high.

One of them is a netizen who complains that his vehicle is set at Rp. 60,000 on the side of the road when he wants to shop at Tanah Abang. Syafrin emphasized that the perpetrator who charged the tariff of up to Rp. 60 thousand was a illegal parking attendant.

"Our people see that there are illegal parking attendants there, as if they can park there," Syafrin told reporters, Tuesday, April 15.

Syafrin admitted that illegal parking in Tanah Abang has been a problem for a long time that has not been resolved. In fact, Syafrin emphasized, the DKI Transportation Agency continues to control and always places officers to supervise regularly.

However, the illegal jukir in Tanah Abang often outsmarts control by playing cats. Syafrin admitted that they often ran away when they were brought under control by Dishub officers.

"The indication that it was illegal parking was that at the time the person concerned was parking, he asked for parking money in front. Why? Because when the officers arrived, they were able to disperse and the vehicle concerned had to be towed and subject to sanctions," explained Syafrin.

"The principle of control is carried out. But then after the officers return or return, they will appear to make arrangements again illegally," he added.

Therefore, Syafrin appealed to the candidates who visited Tanah Abang not to park their vehicles in illegal parking lots or areas that were not allowed to park.

"For example, in Tanah Abang, you can park directly to Block A or in several locations where parking is allowed. If we look at Block A, the (official parking space) is quite empty above," he concluded.
