"The assistance sent was in the form of tents, then also food, then blankets, medicines and other medical needs," said Deputy Defense Minister Donny Ermawan when releasing the humanitarian aid at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, Monday, March 31.

Donny explained that the delivery of humanitarian aid for victims of the Myanmar earthquake was carried out according to President Prabowo Subianto's orders.

Later the aid will be sent from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base to Sultan Iskandar Muda Air Base, Aceh.

After coming from Sultan Iskandar Muda Air Base, the assistance will be directly escorted by the Indonesian Air Force to Naypyidaw Airport, Myanmar.

Not only assistance, but the TNI also deployed 39 troops consisting of pilot Hercules, Marine Corps, Kopassus, Kopasgat, and Kostrad to carry out humanitarian missions, such as providing medical treatment to earthquake victims, establishing evacuation posts to search for victims who were still missing.

"They will also become an administrative team that will provide first aid for the victims," said Donny.

The personnel will serve in Myanmar indefinitely.
