Flooded, Train Line In Batang Regency Temporarily Closed

JAKARTA - The railway line between the plots of Plabuan Station and Krengseng Station, Batang Regency, Central Java, was temporarily closed due to overflowing water due to rains that hit the area on Friday, March 28, 2025.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang Franoto Wibowo said the route was temporarily closed until the water receded.

"There is a railroad line about 10 meters inundated by the overflowing water. The route is temporarily closed for the safety of train travel," he said as reported by Antara.

He said emergency response officers had been deployed to overcome the impact of the natural disaster.

In addition, he continued, sacks containing Kricak and sand were also prepared to stabilize the affected lanes.

He mentioned that two train trips, each Kamandaka and Kaligung trains, were affected by the incident.

"The journey of the two trains was delayed. PT KAI apologized for the inconvenience of passengers," he said.

He added that compensation for passengers affected by the incident due to the natural disaster had also been given.

According to him, PT KAI continues to monitor and coordinate with related parties to ensure the safety and security of train travel.
