Investigators Searched His House, KPK Today Checks Djan Faridz

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned the former Member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) of the 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) era, Djan Faridz today, Wednesday, March 26. He was questioned as a witness to the alleged bribery related to the interim replacement (PAW) process for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period.

"The investigation was carried out at the KPK's Red and White building," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters in her statement, Wednesday, March 26.

Tessa said Djan had fulfilled the summons. Examination as a witness to complete the files of the suspect Donny Tri Istiqomah as a PDIP lawyer and Harun Masiku, who is a former PDIP candidate, is currently being carried out by investigators from the anti-corruption commission.

The anti-corruption commission once searched Djan's house on Jalan Borobudur Number 26, Central Jakarta on January 22. From this forced effort, investigators found documents to electronic evidence.

Previously reported, the KPK has not detained two suspects in the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period. They are Donny Tri Istiqomah as lawyers from PDIP and Harun Masiku who are still at large.

Meanwhile, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, who was involved in the bribery case, is currently undergoing trial.

He was charged with intervening the investigation as stipulated in Article 21 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, which has been amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001, and Article 65 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code. Prosecutors assessed that Hasto played a role in Harun's escape during a hand arrest operation (OTT) in 2020.

Not only that, the prosecutor also charged him with being involved in giving bribes to the former KPU commissioner, Wahyu Setiawan. The Rp600 million bribe was given together by PDIP advocate Donny Tri Istiqomah, PDIP cadre Saeful Bahri, and Harun Masiku through former Bawaslu member Agustiani Tio.

This gift is intended so that Harun can sit as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives with an interim replacement mechanism.
